While it was a few days later than originally planned, the Phoenix girls' basketball team pronounced itself ready for the Skyline Conference with a resounding 44-13 win at Mazama on January 16.

Originally scheduled for January 12, the game was pushed back due to road conditions.

When it was played, Phoenix had no issues as it rolled to a 28-5 halftime lead and improved to 10-6 overall in the process.

Alissa Alvarez scored 19 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and made six steals while Anabell Delgado added 15 points and five steals for the Pirates.
