Even a power failure couldn't slow down the Phoenix boys' soccer team.
The field lights went out with the Pirates leading 2-0 in their Skyline Conference opener at Klamath Union on Thursday. The teams were able to finish the first half of the play before the contest was halted due to the loss of power.
Bryson Flenner and Dan Martinez scored first-half goals for Phoenix, which improved to 4-0 on the season. Moises Rivera earned the victory in goal.
The Pirates return to action Monday when they host Hidden Valley in a 4:30 pm start at Colver Field.
