The Phoenix boys' soccer team didn't take long to get rolling.
Senior striker Bryson Flenner scored on an indirect kick two minutes into the contest and the Pirates never looked back on the way to a 4-1 win at Valley Catholic in Beaverton on Saturday afternoon.
PHS didn't let the long trip north bother it. Freshmen Victor Martinez scored twice (assisted by Randy Rodriguez and Danny Arevalo) while Joe Navas added a goal in the victory. Moises Rivera stopped three shots in the goal on the day as the Pirates dominated the match on both ends of the field.
Ranked eighth in the state, PHS returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Molalla at Colver Field. Kickoff is set for noon.
