A battle of the Pirates was all Phoenix on Thursday afternoon.
After a pair of postponements due to poor air quality, PHS finally opened its girls' soccer season with a resounding 4-0 win at Marshfield.
Phoenix got a pair of goals from Maggie Carrillo while Jackie Rodriguez and Carina Rodriguez both added a goal and Alex Hernandez an assist.
Faith Moody and Marcella Badillo split time in goal, posting the shutout for the PHS, which returns to action Monday when it is scheduled to host South Umpqua.
